Mark Lewis serves as a Senior Consultant at Stephenson Harwood LLP, London, and is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the Law School of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
With 40 years of experience spanning senior roles in the UK government, leadership positions in private legal practice, corporate board-level advisory, and academia, he is recognized as one of the UK’s foremost technology legal practitioners. His expertise encompasses advising on the acquisition, provision, and deployment of mission-critical and advanced technology products, systems, processes, and IT-enabled services, primarily within the regulated financial services sector. His clientele includes global banks, insurers, asset managers, international development banks, challenger financial services firms, fintechs, and leading global IT and outsourcing service providers.
Since 2019, Mark has been a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In this role, he delivers lectures on the legal, regulatory, and commercial dimensions of AI and machine learning, cybersecurity and resilience, cloud computing, and associated business models.
Mark was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn in 1982 and requalified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1991.
